New features of coscom v3

 

In addition to the existing coscom v1 / v2 functions coscom v3 defines several new features:

  • event driven messages (no polling needed)
  • getting devices options
  • cool down function
  • pause function
  • extended terminal control
  • extended profil and test control
  • profil edition
  • general functions (i. e. getting serial number, firmware version, ...)
  • reset and set parameters (distance, energy, time)
  • firmware update
  • and more...

End of support for older coscom.dll

The support for all older coscom files (including coscomekg.dll version 1.00 and coscom.dll version 1.2.9 and also including coscom v2) will end on 31.12.2010. Please upgrade in time to the new coscom v3 .NET Objects and coscom v3 .NET Controls.

Please note also, that the older versions of coscom v1 and coscom v2 are not designed and not documented based on IEC EN 62304:2006 Medical device software - Software life cycle processes. Therefore by March 21, 2010 it is obligatory to upgrade to h/p/cosmos coscom v3 in order to stay compatible with the latest norms, latest safety standards and Regulatory Affair Issues when connecting to h/p/cosmos medical treadmills.

What are the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Objects designed for?

The h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Objects are designed for programmers, who want to adapt their devices (e.g. ECG, Ergospirometry equipment or any kind of PC-software) to treadmills or ergometers via the new h/p/cosmos coscom v3 protocol.

 

To make sure that not every programmer has to do the same work again, we developed the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Objects. The *.dlls can be integrated in your program and allow you to use all important functions of the h/p/cosmos coscom-protocol.

 

Which applications can use the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Objects?

Based on Microsofts .NET Framework 2.0 the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Objects can be integrated in any Software written in one of the Microsoft .NET languages using the .NET Framework 2.0 or higher.

 

What is the difference between MCU4 and MCU5 objects?

MCU5 is the latest generation of the h/p/cosmos control computer for running machines. It has an optional higher baud rate (115200) than MCU4 computers (9600) and therefore allows a faster communication. Also the firmware of an MCU5 machine can be updated via a flash update where MCU4 needs to change the EPROM hardware. All other coscom features are basically the same.

Introduction - h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Controls

 

What are the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Controls designed for?

The h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Controls are designed for programmers, who want to adapt their devices (e.g. ECG, Ergospirometry equipment or any kind of PC-software) to treadmills or ergometers via the new h/p/cosmos coscom v3 protocol.

 

To make sure that not every programmer has to do the same work again, we developed the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 .NET Controls. The *.dlls can be integrated in your Microsoft .NET Project and allow you to use several components for the h/p/cosmos coscom v3 protocol in your application. The goal is to quickly build safe and good looking user interfaces for h/p/cosmos coscom v3 devices.

 

This components are:

  • All 6 terminal buttons of the h/p/cosmos user terminal.
  • A buzzer component, which simulates the beep sound of the user terminal.
  • A failsafe component, which automatically implements the important failsafe command for safety reasons.
  • All 6 four digit LCD displays of the user terminal.
  • All 24 Leds of the user terminal.
  • An additional quick stop button.
  • An additional pause button.
  • A set of 3 buttons to step to profiles and tests.
  • An additional cool down button.
  • A control for setting a new target speed and acceleration.
  • A control for setting a new target eleveation.
